Lim Jee Yat

Mr Lim Jee Yat is a tertiary educator and administrator, with almost 18 years of experience in conducting and teaching built environment programmes, offered by various well-known and reputable universities and colleges. He holds a MSc. in Construction Management and a B.Eng. (Hons) in Civil Engineering and from the University of Technology, Malaysia.
Jee Yat was previously with Trent Global College of Technology & Management, Singapore, as Adjunct/Principal Lecturer. His steadfast commitment and passion towards teaching and learning have contributed significantly to the success of Trent Global in restructuring its academic system, programmes development, and educational partnership with Liverpool John Moores University, Heriot-Watt University, and University of Salford, UK.
In September 2016, Jee Yat took up an appointment as Director of Studies of Trent Global, where he successfully helped the college to achieve a 4-year EduTrust Certification, awarded by the Committee for Private Education (CPE) Singapore, within nine months in the position.
Besides administration, Jee Yat was also involved in conducting and teaching built environment programmes offered by Liverpool John Moores University and Heriot-Watt University, through their affiliation with Trent Global. He was also involved in various programmes at Trent Global, which led to improved academic results amongst diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate students.
Prior to joining Trent Global, Jee Yat was the Principal of IMPERIA Institute of Technology, Malaysia. Having worked at IMPERIA since 2005 as Senior Lecturer, followed by Head of School, Director of Marketing, and Director of Studies and Principal, he has played a pivotal role in the development, expansion, and success of IMPERIA.
In the early part of his career, Jee Yat worked as a design engineer in a civil and structural engineering consulting firm. He began his career in the education sector in 2000 when he was appointed as a lecturer in Civil Engineering programme offered by the University of Adelaide, Australia at Sepang Institute of Technology (now known as SIT International College).
Jee Yat was also previously with Taylor’s College (now known as Taylor’s University) and had conducted and taught various built environment programmes offered by the University of Malaya Malaysia, University of Southern Queensland twinning with SEGI College, UCSI University, Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur, INTI International University & Colleges, Tunku Abdul Rahman University (UTAR), Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC), Pertama Institute of Technology (ITP), Jaya Institute of Technology (ITJ), and Federal Institute of Technology (FIT).
Jee Yat has supervised over 100 postgraduate students to date and has assisted them to successfully complete their dissertations in time. His research interests include construction project management, lean and sustainable construction, as well as value and risk management for construction.
